Soren Hess-Olesen earns Player to Watch award

Usually I focus on the "big sports" the Longhorns play, namely, football, basketball and baseball. But the players of less popular sports are definitely worth mentioning, and Soren Hess-Olesen is one of these players.

The Danish player earned the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Player to Watch award for his playing in the 2011-2012 season. The award is given to someone who could win the regional championship and has to be nationally recognized to win it. Hess-Olesen has reached the finals in national competitions so we'll definitely be watching him!

Not only is he the player to watch next year in Texas, he's also ranked 73rd in the nation for singles. That's nothing to scoff at, and definitely deserves recognition. Congrats, Soren!
