2013 Longhorns Basketball Season in Review

After searching around for some current news to update my favorite readers, I noticed there isn't much of a recap on the Texas Longhorns basketball season. So, I will do one!

What a year for the Texas Longhorns! The Texas Longhorns overall record was 16-18 and 7-11 vs the Big 12. And there were some great games! I remember when it was the Longhorns against Iowa state university as the Longhorns pulled ahead in overtime with a final score 89-86. Another great OT win was against OKLA with the final score 92-86. Remember Longhorns vs. TTU with a tight 71-69 win for Texas Longhorns? How could we forget?

Alright, alright, the Longhorns may have not made the best record for themselves, fans had a great time with many great, close games. Keep checking back to my blog for all the Longhorns news!

Meet Myck Kabongo

Myck Kabongo, what a name. Luckily for the Texas Longhorn basketball team, he is a pretty darn good player too. Kabongo attended Findlay Preparatory High School in Henderson, Nevada. Kabongo played AAU basketball in Canada, as he is known as one of the best Canadien point guards in quite some time. Kabongo is expected to be a huge contributor for the Longhorns as a freshman. The Longhorns lost a lot of talent to the NBA and they will need Kabongo to be a solid contributor from day one. He doesn't score a lot, but he is a great distributor and a tenacious defender.

Meet Kevin Thomas

Kevin Thomas is from Anjax, Ontario, Canada. Kevin Thomas attended Christian Faith Center Academy in North Carolina. Thomas played AAU basketball for Grassroots Canada. Thomas is a three star player on Rivals.com. Thomas has all the tools to be a very successful player in college basketball. He is long, athletic, and score the basketball when he puts his mind too. He needs to refine all the areas of his game in order to take the next step to becoming productive at the college level.

Kevin Thomas

Meet Julien Lewis

Julien Lewis is a highly touted shooting guard who attended La Marque High School in La Marque Texas. Lewis was rated the 59th player overall in the class of 2011 and the 14th best shooting guard prospect. He played AAU basketball with Houston Hoops. Lewis has the ability to a prototypical scorer in college basketball. He has long arms, he is athletic, and he is a nice shooting touch. All he needs is scoring instincts and he will be good to go. The Longhorns are going to need someone to score for them since Tristan Thompson and Jordan Hamilton are in the NBA now and Lewis is a good candidate to fill that void.
