Longhorns' Guard to Enter NBA Draft

The Big 12's leading scorer this season, Texas guard J'Covan Brown, will bypass his senior season and enter the NBA Draft.

Brown averaged 20.1 points per game and led the Longhorns to a 20-14 record, capped by a 65-59 second-round loss to Cincinnati in the NCAA tournament.

Longhorns Lose to Bearcats

The Longhorns shook off a sluggish start against Cincinnati in the NCAA tournament and came back from 15 points down to tie the game with 3:44 to play. From there, Rick Barnes took a timeout and gave the Longhorns maybe too much time to think about the coming minutes.

The sixth-seeded Bearcats withstood the late rally to win 65-59 in the second round of the East Regional. The Longhorns shot a mere 16 percent for the first half.

Longhorns Must Beat Cyclones

The Longhorns may not be in the most favorable position to gain ground in the NCAA Tournament. As the sixth seed in the Big 12 Conference tournament, the Longhorns will have to face No. 3 seed Iowa State.

Even though the Longhorns won two of their last three regular season games, with the final loss coming to top-ranked Kansas, the selection committee is at least going to want to see Texas beat Iowa State before letting the Longhorns (19-12) in to the big dance.
