Taylor Hoagland breaks two records in one game

Taylor Hoagland gets ready for the pitch. She holds several records at UT.

Last weekend, although the Longhorns had already lost the series to the University of Oklahoma Sooners, they were determined to win the third game. They were behind 5-4 when junior Taylor Hoagland stepped up to the plate. Her home run gave the Longhorns a lead which they kept for the rest of the game, eventually winning 12-5.

What makes this game special, though, is that it brought the total number of runs for the team this season to 329, 6 runs more than the previous record, and Hoagland broke the school record for most home runs in a single game at 16, breaking the school's previous record of 15, her own from last year.

Hoagland has also been named Co-Big 12 Player of the Week this week.

The women's team has one more game this season on Sunday, so we'll see if they break any more records before summer.
