Texas Longhorns basketball Freshman point guard Myck Kabongo
Freshman point guard Myck Kabongo joined the Texas Longhorns basketball team this year, coming from Toronto, Canada. Myck says there were a lot of factors in choosing The University of Texas as his college. Kabongo says his strong relationship with Coach Barnes was the first factor he considered, since a point guard needs a good relationship with his coach. He also considered the location. Longhorns point guard Kabongo says that Austin is a great city. The last factor he considered is the style of play, Kabongo loves the Texas Longhorns basketball style of play.
The coaching staff wants the best from you and the best for you, pushing the team as individuals and as a team, according to Myck Kabongo. He continues, saying it's helpful to have coaches who care about you.
The privilege and pleasure is all his, Kabongo says, as he is just trying to make his mark at the Univeristy of Texas, like those before him, T.J. Ford, D.J. Augustin and Royal Ivey.
The adjustment from Canada to Austin has been an easy one for Kabongo. He says the people are like family and he sees Austin as his second home.
He had no qualms about his future, as he knows the Texas Longhorns basketball player development is unbelievable. He knows the coaching staff at UT puts the players in the right position to be able to move up to the next level.
The Texas Longhorns basketball schedule starts soon, and we'll be able to see first-hand how well the Longhorns 2011-2012 basketball team will play this year! There are Texas Longhorns basketball tickets available at www.longhornsbasketballtickets.com! Let's go 'Horns!
